Judith Annett and Stefan Berglund have published a joint chapter for the 2015 Springer anthology <a title="Well-Being in Contemporary Society" href="http://www task management tools.springer.com/social+sciences/wellbeing+%26+quality-of-life/book/978-3-319-06458-1″>Well-Being in Contemporary Society, entitled “Increasing societal well-being through enhanced empathy using computer games”.
The chapter is the result of a research project on empathy that Judith and Stefan are currently working on within the Systems Biology Research Centre at the University, and seeks to establish the role computer games might be able to play in enhancing empathy in players, as a means of increasing societal well-being.
