After careful consideration by the year’s examiners, I am pleased to announce that the winner of the honorary prize for the best Bachelor’s Thesis in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Skövde for the year 2014 goes to Psychological Coach student Sofia Andersson Szabo, for her thesis A Biological and Psychological Profile of Eudaimonia as High Psychological Well-Being.
In her work, Sofia integrates several strands of what otherwise characterize our studies and research at the department: an interest in well-being, from a strongly empirical, cognitive neuroscientific perspective, with a further dose of philosophical and conceptual sensitivity. Her profiling of the biological and psychological correlates of (certain constructs of) eudaimonic well-being makes a compelling case for further study of the topic, highlighting its interesting and important nature.
Congratulations to Sofia for the award! And further pleasant summer holidays to all!
